Meg and Sue cannot be separated from their KoolTies

The KoolTie was devised by Pam and Steve Kafka in Phoenix Arizona where it is HOT. New ties, like the ones Meg and Sue are holding, only weigh an ounce (31g) but they swell on soaking to hold about 450g (12oz) of water, which doesn't leak but slowly evaporates. Worn round your neck, the KoolTie sits against the carotid artery, cooling the blood slightly as it passes and so helping to reduce the core body temperature.

As a result of MS, Sue feels severely fatigued when she gets warm. Meg and she  also struggle with menopausal hot flushes. Summer can be hot these days, but cooking, gardening and socialising  also creat problems.
